In 2023, Yasmín Ramírez earned acclaim, securing a silver medal at the International Latino Book Awards for her memoir ¡Ándale, Prieta!, published by Lee and Low Books. A Martha's Institute of Creative Writing Author Fellow and recipient of the Woody and Gayle Hunt-Aspen Institute Fellowship Award, Ramirez has gained notable recognition for her literary contributions. Serving as an Associate Professor at El Paso Community College, she actively contributes to the Borderplex arts community and holds a position on the advisory board for BorderSenses, a literary non-profit organization.
